No real injuries... although Jake did hurt a finger. : ( We left early Monday morning and returned to Tacna Friday night. While we were there, we were able to visit Mery.

Wednesday afternoon we had the opportunity to participate in a community outreach service. We provided about two hours of games and songs for all the kids of the neighborhood. Afterwards, the president of our district had hot chocolate (even though we're in the 80s!!) and they gave out gifts to all the kids. Then, in the evening we had a Christmas service in our church and we also served hot chocolate. (It's tradition here!!)

- Arequipa trip
My dad and I (Sarah Beth) went to Arequipa so I could take my SAT test. The trip was rather fast and not necessarily "for fun" : )
On the way to Arequipa our bus broke down so that added a few hours to our journey! At last we arrived safe and sound... the Lord really helped me with my test. And on Sat. afternoon we turned right back around and headed for home.
Thanks to everyone that was praying for our trip!

- Arequipa- First and Second Day
We arrived in Arequipa Wednesday afternoon and went to Pastor Henry's church for the night service. Thursday morning was when the real fun began! In the morning we passed out flyers and invited kids to the VBS and parents to the revival in the nights. After getting the church ready for the kids we grabbed a quick bite to eat and headed back to the church. The VBS was so amazing today! We had an awesome attendance of 130 for the first day! Everyone was so pumped! The service in the night was also great. Several ppl from Henry's church brought their instruments and played along with the congregational singing, We also were able to do two instrumental specials that night. (SB)
- Mandie's park adventure
I took Mandie to the park today and she had a blast! She took things to have a tea party with her baby. It was cute to watch her set up her "table" and lay everything out. : ) (Sarah Beth)
- Project VIA-Mercado Santa Rosa
This was the first outreach ministry for Proyecto VIA (Vision in Action) and we were very excited with the results. The ministry is called VIA (Vision in Action.) We want people to be saved... so we're going to do something about it. So today with a group of people from our church we went to a market (Mercado Santa Rosa) and passed out tracts to everyone there. We also set up some banner things with the plan of salvation on it. We then starting singing some songs and going through the Gospel message. Many people from our church were able to witness to those sitting in the plaza. A lot of kids came with their parents and at the end everyone received a tract and the book of John and Romans. Now all the children that want to go to Sunday School are meeting at this same plaza and we're going to pick them up for church. I know of at least one lady that was saved, and that's what it's all about. (comments by Sarah Beth)

From Tuesday to Friday Andrew, Abbey, Criss, and I were able to participate in a youth conference in Arica. We made alot of friends, had a blast, and learned alot. Every day was packed with messages, testimonies, prayer time, passing out tracts, food, and of course, fun! We arrived home Friday afternoon and after eating lunch we all slept for like three hours or something. It was fun though (even though I had to eat like 6 candies per message to stay awake!) ~ comments by Sarah Beth

- Sandra's Baby Shower
6\24\08 we had a baby shower for Sandra and Oscar. She's due in about 3 weeks and she looks ready to pop! The shower was at her house . 30 people, and 4 babies were there. The Peruvian baby showers are very different from American baby showers. When you first get there, you just kinda sit in a circle an talk. Then they might have some games, then presents are opened, then you're served a meal. It was a special time for Sandra and Oscar and we were glad to be a blessing. (comments by Sarah Beth)
- Castle Ministry 6\21\08
The Lord blessed this meeting with like 50 teens and parents present. We had a great time with the games and skits. The midget skit is with Andrew. We had a blast practicing at home, and although it didn't come out quite as planned (doesn't that always happen) it was really neat. Thanks for your prayers for this ministry. (Comments by Sarah Beth ; ) )
- Bright Lights
6\13\08~ A Bright Lights meeting on Friday. 13 girls (and a cat) were present and we enjoyed the fellowship immensly. The first set of videos is an activity where the different groups had to put our memory verse into a song. The results were quite humorous to say the least. The last set of videos are the groups making comercials about why girls should come to the Bible study. These were also cute and funny. On the last set of videos the camera was dying... so I didn't get great videos. sorry! : ( And to any cat lovers out there I'm sorry for my view on cats. ; ) (comments by Sarah Beth)
6\21\08~ We had a great meeting with 14 girls present. The pics from this meeting begin after the last video.

- Prep for Father's Day
We worked hard all day for the Father's Day Banquet on Sat. The theme is construction and here everything is made from scratch! So my mom had some really great ideas, the creative juices started flowing, and we worked like crazy to make it all come true. This are the before pics we'll show you the after pics at the banquet. (Comments by Sarah Beth)
- New Amanda pics
Amanda having fun and singing! She's gotten very proficient lately in her communication skills. She told my mom the other day that she shouldn't correct her becasue she was biggger now. After controling her laughter my mom told her that SHE was bigger and that Amanda had to obey. It was very funny. Mandie also loves making up new songs that she sings at the top of her voice. Praise God for little siblings that help us lighten up and laugh. (comments by SB)
